Amanda is a passionate philanthropic professional with over 12 years of experience across the nonprofit sector. Amanda is dedicated to creating deep and lasting impact while establishing meaningful connections between organizations and their donors.
Amanda began her development career in corporate giving as a Grant Coordinator at the Georgia Power Foundation, supporting Charitable Giving. She later transitioned into front line fundraising for Emory University, first supporting the Winship Cancer Institute in annual giving and later serving the School of Medicine as Director of Development. The complex academic medical center environment offered an invaluable opportunity to build strong relationships with faculty, grateful patients, and alumni. Amanda joined the American Cancer Society as Director of Philanthropy in 2019, securing funding for innovative cancer research, access to care initiatives, and advocacy programming. In her recent role as Senior Consultant at Purpose Possible, Amanda worked with small to midsize nonprofits, pinpointing the areas they most needed support and filling the gap; allowing the nonprofit to accomplish their important work. Clients included Clarkston Community Health Center and the Georgia Innocence Project.
Amanda holds a Master of Science in Leadership & Management and Bachelor of Science in Management Communications from Southern Christian University. Her focus is on making this world a better place. Health equity, social justice and disability rights are at the core of her work.
Outside of the office, Amanda enjoys spending time with her husband, Robert, and their three boxers, Layla, Cash, and Dooley. She enjoys watching college football, listening to podcasts, attending concerts and writing. She is currently working on her first novel. Amanda is based in metro Atlanta, Georgia.
