Arkansas Issue 2: Countywide Voter Approval for New Casino Licenses and Repeal Casino Licenses in Pope County Initiative (2024)

  • In 2024, voters in Arkansas will be able to vote on changing the constitution in their state. The state constitution is a set of laws that say what the government can and cannot do.     • If people want to build a casino in a different county, they have to ask the county leaders.

    • The leaders would then have to hold a special vote.

      Voting “yes” for this amendment means you want it to become law.

Additional Context & Our Stance:

The State will limit where in Arkansas new Casinos can be built or run. If people want to build a casino in a certain county, they will have to ask the county leaders. The leaders would then hold a special vote. Casinos contribute significantly to local tax money that can fund public services. Casinos also provide job opportunities, including to disabled people.

Disabled voters and those who care about us should vote NO to “Arkansas Issue 2: Countywide Voter Approval for New Casino Licenses and Repeal Casino Licenses in Pope County Initiative.”

Voting NO means you do not want Arkansas’ state rules to limit where there can be new casinos.
